Fine, but how much cooler would the debates be if the candidates had to pander to dogs and cats? Imagine McCain saying, “Barack voted 34 times to restrict access to the dinner table to dogs under 15 lbs.” and Obama’s response: “When I’m in charge, I’ll create a tax credit for things that squeak when you squeeze them.”
